AAPL – the co posted a new software patch for the iPhone, although this one doesn't appear to fix some of the signal strength and reception problems users have been complaining about. Apple didn't disclose the contents of this latest patch and sources say the reception code update isn't expected to hit until Sept anyway. AAPL - Apple has offered an additional two month free extension for all MobileMe subscribers with active accounts as of August 19, 2008, on top of the original 30-day extension granted a month ago – Apple Insider

AAPL vs. DELL – this story was out over the weekend – Dell is working on a broad and ambitious plan, details of which could be out in Sept, that would combat Apple in the online music download and device market. Dell is hoping to form an alliance w/other companies looking to break into the industry and disrupt Apple's dominance.
