JAVA May Sell Assets

JAVA - Reuters says co may be forced to see a buyer for all/some of its assets, although may not find many takers - Southeastern Asset Management and KKR are both meaningful holders in Sun and may become activist. Reuters says companies like DELL, IBM, CSCO, and Fujitsu are all potential buyers, although none many want to take on the challenge of integrating all of Sun in this challenging eco environment. JAVA may have more luck splitting its hardware and software assets and trying to find buyers for individual pieces, although this may be tough too; Sun's STK unit (valued at $750MM-1B) and certain of its software units could be candidates for sale. One unit that Sun prob. won't sell is the recently acquired MySQL. Reuters
