Apple Launches iPhone in the U.K.

Apple is set to launch the iPhone in the U.K. on Nov 9, in time for the Christmas holiday shopping season. It will do so with O2, Spain’s Telefonica mobile arm in the U.K. and will retail for £269 ($536). According to the WSJ, Apple is expected to announce deals with France Telecom's Orange and Deutsche Telekom in Germany in coming days. Apple will, however, face strong competition from Nokia Corp. and Sony Ericsson, a joint venture between Sony Corp. and Telefon AB LM Ericsson.
