Apple IPhone

  • Sales reports are still sketchy, but initial forecasts make it seem like trends were better than expected for the device’s first weekend.   • Reports suggest that AT&T retail locations were mostly sold out of their 3G inventory but Apple was telling customers that many of the co’s own locations still had stock. Apparently, the 16G version is selling faster than the 8G version. [Bloomberg]
  • There were some reports of activation problems w/the phone owing to an iTunes software issue, although it appears as if that glitch has been resolved and it didn’t seem to impact sales too much. [San Jose Mercury News]
  • Barron’s reviews the device – notes the new speed and says the software enhancements are significant over the prior version. However, says battery life drains quickly when the device is accessing the 3G network.
